2026 Livingston County Doe Derby

Annual Meeting Details Image credit: LCFB
Date Posted: November 19, 2025

Attention Hunters and Farmers! Join us for the 2026 Doe Derby!
January 3rd, 2026 will be the first annual Doe Derby in Livingston County.  The purpose of the Doe Derby is to harvest the overpopulation of whitetail deer, reducing crop damages, car-deer collisions, and improve heard health.  The advantage of the Doe Derby is to donate harvested deer to those in need, through food bank distribution to families in Southeast Michigan.

Our farming community has come together to create this event, with the support of local businesses, landowners, and charitable organizations supporting hunger relief efforts in our area.
The event is open to the public-does can be entered in the harvest contests, and there will be raffle prizes for participants that have been donated from the community.  There will also be a non-perishable food drive collection benefitting Gleaners the day of the event.
All harvested and donated meat will be processed at Great Lakes Custom Meats and More, LLC in Howell, MI, and will be donated to Gleaners of Southeast Michigan to be distributed to families in need.  Processing fees will be covered by generous donations from Livingston County Farm Bureau, the Michigan Farm Bureau Venison Task Force (part of the Farm Bureau mission to end childhood hunger) and the Agent Charitable Fund from Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan.

Information for the event can be found in the link below.  If you would like to partner with us by donating raffle prizes, contest awards, or contributing funds to offset processing fees, please contact us! Contact information is included in the information link.
