The Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund (ACF) plans to award $5,972 through ACF’s Double-Up Donation program in April. ACF and seven county Farm Bureaus will provide matching funds to support their hunger-relief donations.

District 1 Donations

District 1 hosted their annual Chili Cookoff and Young Farmer Discussion Meet on March 2. Proceeds from the chili cookoff were distributed equally among the five county Farm Bureaus, and each county will make a local hunger-relief donation with the support of Double-Up.

  • Berrien County Farm Bureau — Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency
  • Cass County Farm Bureau — Marcellus and Edwardsburg food pantries
  • Kalamazoo County Farm Bureau — Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes
  • St. Joseph County Farm Bureau — KeyStone Place
  • Van Buren County Farm Bureau — Eleanor’s Pantry

County Donations

The following county Farm Bureaus will utilize Double-Up to support monetary donations to local hunger-relief programs:

  • Huron Shores Farm Bureau — Sunrise Centre food pantry
  • Otsego County Farm Bureau — Otsego County Community Food Pantry

The ACF Double-Up Donation Program supports county Farm Bureaus’ efforts to end hunger in their communities by providing matching funds to local organizations and programs which represent the ACF mission.

County Farm Bureaus initiate the nomination and donation process, and the selected program is reviewed for an ACF matching donation by a committee of ACF donors based on the need of the organization, population being served and overall goal of the program. If approved, ACF donation match through the Double-Up program can count toward the county’s Harvest for All totals.

Double-Up Donation requests are reviewed every other month. For more information about the Double-Up Donation Program, visit this website or contact ACF Manager Persis Sopariwala at [email protected].
