Members of various committees at Hillsdale County Farm Bureau are busy bees planning three upcoming programs. Let’s take a look at what they are up to!

Agriculture Career Day

The Agriculture Career Day committee has announced the next program will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Redline Equipment in Litchfield.

Hillsdale County High School students grades 9-12 are invited to the event. As we’ve moved the event around the county, the committee continues to expand the offering to students enrolled in nearby schools: Addison, Hudson, Homer, Concord and Tekonsha. The committee hopes to capture those Hillsdale County kids that select school of choice outside of the county.

Students who attended last year are encouraged to attend again as we plan to bring in new career stations. All students should contact their school at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year to register.

County Annual Meeting

Our County Annual Meeting will gather area farmer members at Lane View Farm in Cement City to celebrate the past year’s programs such as Project RED (rural education day) for fourth grade students, National Agriculture Week activities, and more!

The evening program also recognizes young farmers & members for various accomplishments. Nominations for the Young Farmer Awards are due July 1st and will be recognized at this event. Consider a nomination

Policy development committees across the state help develop polices to guide the agriculture industry into the future. Our committee has been hard at work reviewing and discussing current and new policy ideas.

Board member elections are a vital part of the organization that take place at this event. Board members and their committees help drive programs and activities that help our community learn about agriculture, celebrate the hard work of area farmers, and more!

We are also excited to welcome back young vocalist Hayden Ladd as we support his dream to pursue his music career.

This event will take place on Tuesday, August 26th. Invitations to members and guests will be mailed in July.

4-H Breakfast

We are bringing back our 4-H breakfast event to help fuel our 4-Hers as they spend a week at the county fair, working harder than they might on a typical week to demonstrate their skill in showing animals, arts & crafts and more! Young Farmer Chair Ridge Bollheimer and his wife/co-chair, Lindsay, hosted this event for the first time last year on opening day of fair. This year the breakfast will kick off on Sunday, September 21st located near the 4-H kitchen. Breakfast is free to 4-Hers, sponsored by the Hillsdale Co Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee. More details to come as this event approaches.
