Dec. 1 deadline for Gt. Lakes Leadership Academy’s Emerging Leader Program

The Great Lakes Leadership Academy is rooted in Michigan State University Extension with support from numerous other organizations, including Michigan Farm Bureau.

Applications for the Great Lakes Leadership Academy’s 2023 Emerging Leader Program is open through Dec. 1 for aspiring leaders looking for a transformational leadership experience.

Successful applicants will join a cohort of 24 changemakers from across Michigan and work toward greater self-understanding, navigate differences with others, work effectively in groups and seek the common good. You will meet for an all-inclusive, four-day retreat three times over the course of six months in April, July and October.

“The challenges that our world faces are complex,” said Amy, a graduate of the Emerging Leader Program. “The skills I gained from attending GLLA are proving themselves indispensable on multiple levels, both in my professional career and in my personal relationships.”

We are seeking applicants:

  • With diverse backgrounds, experiences, and worldviews.
  • Willing to engage in self exploration for personal growth.
  • Able to fully commit and apply your learning in your unique context.
  • Dedicated to the common good and enhancing quality of life in Michigan and beyond.
