As agriculture evolves, preparing young people to thrive beyond today’s challenges has never been more important. Across Michigan, dedicated volunteers are investing their time, knowledge and passion to ensure the next generation of agricultural leaders is truly beyond ready. Many of these individuals work quietly through county 4-H programs, shaping futures with little recognition.
MFB’s 4-H Excellence in Agriculture Award is your opportunity to spotlight those exceptional volunteers who are building youth skills, confidence and leadership through 4-H.
Funded by MFB’s 4-H Excellence in Agriculture Endowment Fund, this award honors individual volunteers or groups who demonstrate excellence in 4-H youth education and leadership development. Recognized program areas include beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, horses, horticulture, crops and soils, poultry, rabbits, sheep, swine and veterinary science — all fields that are critical to the future of agriculture.
Award recipients receive a $1,000 grant designated for a 4-H agricultural program of their choice. Grants may be used to support volunteer training, purchase supplies and curriculum materials, or strengthen local or statewide 4-H agricultural programs.
