Date Posted: May 6, 2026

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently announced several appointments and reappointments of Farm Bureau members to key state agricultural committees:

Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee

BJ Eisenga Jr., an Osceola County Farm Bureau member from Tustin, is the manager and owner of Midget Mountain Dairy LLC. Eisenga is reappointed as a member nominated by the Dairy Farmers of America.

Bryan Hull, a Clinton County Farm Bureau member from Fenwick, is the owner of Hulls Dairy Farm LLC. Hull is reappointed as a member nominated by the Dairy Farmers of America.

Both will serve terms through December 2029.

The Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee works in conjunction with the United Dairy Industry of Michigan to promote the sale of dairy products and educate consumers, health professionals and educators about the dairy industry and the nutritional benefits of Michigan dairy products.

Michigan Bean Commission

Steve Ewald, a Tuscola County Farm Bureau member from Unionville, is the president and owner of Ewald Farms Inc. and treasurer of the U.S. Dry Bean Council. He is reappointed to represent members at large.

Ted Bauer, of Reese, is a co-owner of Laracha Farms and holds an associate degree in agribusiness from Michigan State University. He is reappointed to represent District 2 growers.

Both will serve terms through December 2029.

The Michigan Bean Commission focuses on research and promotion, working to deliver high-quality dry beans and maintain the state’s reputation as a global industry leader.

Michigan Cherry Committee

Noah Fox, an Oceana County Farm Bureau member from Hart, is a farm manager at N.J. Fox and Sons and holds a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness management from Michigan State University. Fox is reappointed to represent District 2 tart cherry growers through February 2029. He succeeds fellow Oceana County Farm Bureau member Andrew Riley, whose term has expired.

The Michigan Cherry Committee works to improve the economic position of tart and sweet cherry growers by expanding marketing opportunities by promotion and advertising, sharing market information and supporting marketing research.
