Farm Bureau members appointed to state dairy marketing committee

Five Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) members were appointed or reappointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee. All appointees are subject to Senate approval.  

“We’re always proud to see Farm Bureau members serving in leadership roles like this,” said Ernie Birchmeier, MFB senior industry relations specialist. “They have the knowledge and hands-on experience needed as the committee works to promote the sale of dairy products and educate consumers, health professionals and educators about the dairy industry and the nutritional benefits of Michigan's dairy products.”  

Van Buren County Farm Bureau member Timothy Hood, of Paw Paw, is reappointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Hood is the owner of Hood Farms and will serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. He also serves on Michigan Farm Bureau’s Dairy Advisory Committee.

Osceola County Farm Bureau member Amy Martin, of Leroy, is also reappointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Martin is the owner of Gingrich Meadows Inc. and will serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. 

Kent County Farm Bureau member Renee McCauley, of Lowell, is reappointed to represent the Michigan Farm Bureau. McCauley is the owner of Tumbleweed Dairy and will serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. She also serves on Michigan Farm Bureau’s Dairy Advisory Committee and is Kent County Farm Bureau’s Promotion & Education chairperson.

Clinton County Farm Bureau member Dwight Nash, of Elsie, is reappointed to represent Independent Milk Cooperatives. Nash is the owner of Nash Dairy and will serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. He also chairs Clinton County Farm Bureau’s Community Action Group, the Maple River Rowdies.

Clinton County Farm Bureau member Kenneth Wieber, of Fowler, is appointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Wieber is the owner of Wieber Farms and will serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. He succeeds Kenneth Nobis whose term expired Dec. 31, 2021.

  • Saginaw County Farm Bureau member Eric J. Frahm, Frankenmuth, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Washtenaw County Farm Bureau member Jeffrey Horning, Manchester, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Huron Shores Farm Bureau member Corby Werth, Alpena, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Branch County Farm Bureau member Brian Preston, Quincy, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Jeremy Beebe, Whittemore, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Hillsdale County Farm Bureau member Carol Marz-Evans, Litchfield, represents the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
  • Clinton County Farm Bureau member Bryan Hull, Fenwick, represents the Dairy Farmers of America.
  • Osceola County Farm Bureau member Benjamin Eisenga, Jr., Tustin, represents the Dairy Farmers of America.
