Herd & Hunter TB Connections: April 25 in Grayling, online

Farm Bureau members across the northern Lower Peninsula are encouraged to attend the next Herd & Hunter: Bovine TB Connections meeting, 6-8 p.m. April 25.

MDNR’s latest surveillance results found infected deer in Crawford, Iosco and Ogemaw counties. 

Attendees will hear the latest updates on bovine tuberculosis in Michigan from several expert speakers:

  • Dr. Megan Moriarty, Michigan Department of Natural Resources: Bovine TB-Infected Deer Detected Outside of Deer Management Unit 487 and the Modified Accredited Zone in 2022 

  • Dr. Mike VanderKlok, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development: MDARD Program Updates 

  • Pat Ryan, U.S. Department of Agriculture-Wildlife Services: USDA-Wildlife Services Program Updates 

  • Dr. James Sunstrum, director of Wayne County Tuberculosis Clinic and tuberculosis consultant for the Michigan Department of Health of Human Services: TB in Deer, Cattle and Now Humans 

Attendees can either join in person at Kirtland Community College (Community Room A, 4800 W. Four Mile Road, Grayling) or online (meeting number 214 446 985 236; password: RRYQMx). Those joining virtually should install Microsoft Teams before the scheduled meeting time to avoid missing any content.
