What do you have when you combine a bright and sunny day, a field full of shiny tractors on display, and free ice cream?
In Barry County we call that a very successful member appreciation event.
MOO-ville Creamery outside Nashville hosted us June 27 and was just the right size to accommodate our 70-plus pre-registrations and another 20 additional walk-up attendees.
There was plenty of foot traffic up and down the aisles as our guests watched cows walk up and help themselves to the robot milkers. Outside everyone enjoyed the MOO-ville tractor show, attended by dozens of local vintage tractor collectors.
Members used their Barry County Farm Bureau “Bucks” for ice cream and milk products inside the MOO-ville Creamery store.
With a regular-member population of just over 700, Barry County Farm Bureau has seen has membership held steady, with only a negligible decline over the past several years.
It’s sunnier skies on the involvement side, where attendance at local Farm Bureau events has been on the rise. Last year’s annual meeting nearly doubled from the previous year.
