If you’re still bummed out about the passing of Labor Day, close your eyes and think back another three months to Memorial Day! Picture clear blue skies and slowly warming temperatures up in beautiful Lake City…

Because that’s where the Missaukee County Farm Bureau continues its tight relationship with the town’s elementary school, home of the little Lake City Trojans, who have a running club that hosted that weekend 1-mile and 5K races.

An after-school running program for Lake City’s fourth and fifth-graders, the Trojan Running Club offered the event to celebrate the end of its spring season — and the school year.

Proceeds went to support the cross-country program at Lake City’s middle and high schools.

Missaukee County Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education team supplied string cheese snacks for participating runners, partly funded with grant monies from Michigan Milk Producers’ Association.
