Board Member Spotlight:

Martha Munsell, Munsell Farms, Fowlerville, MI

Martha is the chair of the Livingston County Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee and is a great asset to our Board as we create and expand our educational and outreach programs!

“Our farm is a centennial farm, it was started in 1905 by my great grandparents, I am the 4th generation on this farm.  My primary roles are with animal care, hay management, advertising and marketing of our farm markets (spring, fall, and winter), daily duties in the greenhouse, and on the farm in general.  We have about 1400 acres; our whole family helps at different times of the year as needed. We currently have 5-6 family members helping out on a weekly basis.” states Martha.  Munsell Farms is home to draft horses, Beef/Dairy cattle, and Goats, and produces: Hay, Straw, Corn, Oats, Rye, Bird seeds, Greenhouse stock, Cut flowers, Sunflower fields, Pumpkins, and they offer Wintergreens and Christmas trees.

Martha’s passion for education and promoting agriculture to all the individuals' who visit their farm, and her pride in having the opportunity to work with her family are things that set her apart from others.  To continue to succeed, we need to understand “the history, the hard work, the constant need to learn, grow, and improve to get us where we are today and tomorrow.”

Thank you, Martha, for your service to the Livingston County Farm Bureau!
