Voters in 51 Michigan counties will head to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 5, to weigh in on a variety of local issues. Michigan Farm Bureau Government Relations Specialist Matt Kapp is encouraging county Farm Bureau members to make their voices heard.

Communities holding elections

“Local elections often fly under the radar, but they carry real weight,” Kapp said. “From school millages to township proposals, these decisions directly affect our farms, our families and the future of our rural communities.

“Even the smallest ballot can shape big outcomes — and we should never pass up the chance to be part of that.”

To check your voter registration, find your polling location, or learn how to vote absentee, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center through the Secretary of State’s website.
