Date Posted: April 30, 2025

Share your voice, grow your leadership skills and strengthen Michigan agriculture by presenting at one of Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2026 conferences! We’re seeking dynamic breakout session speakers to deliver engaging, practical and inspiring learning experiences for attendees at three key events:

  • Voice of Agriculture Conference — Jan. 23-25, 2026 in Southfield
  • Young Farmer Leaders Conference — Feb. 27 – March 1, 2026 in Kalamazoo
  • Farmers Teaching Farmers Workshop — June 20, 2026 in Lansing

Proposals are due by May 20, 2025; submit your proposal online.

About the Conferences

The Voice of Agriculture Conference is focused on grassroots leadership, advocacy and agricultural education.

MFB’s Young Farmer Leaders Conference centers on leadership development, business growth and connecting young Farm Bureau members ages 18–35.

The Farmers Teaching Farmers Workshop is a new, hands-on experience providing ready-to-apply tools, resources and ideas farmers can immediately use on their operations.

Breakout Session Options

There are multiple session formats available to match different presentation styles and learning needs:

  • Breakout sessions are fast-paced presentations, 30-45 minutes long, that deliver practical tips, strategies, or new ideas with time for questions.
  • Workshops, 60-90 minutes, are interactive, hands-on sessions designed for deeper dives into skill development, leadership training, communication techniques or business strategy.
  • Seminars, in-depth, topic-specific sessions lasting 90 minutes to 2 hours, are ideal for expert panels, complex problem-solving or multi-part learning experiences that allow members to explore an issue or skill in detail.

Prospective presenters can indicate a preferred format when submitting a proposal.

What Makes a Great Proposal?

  • Relevant & Relatable: Address current trends, opportunities and challenges facing today’s farmers, educators and advocates.
  • Interactive: Build in ways for participants to engage, practice, discuss or reflect.
  • Story-Driven, Not Sales-Driven: Share your expertise, lessons learned and success stories — not a product pitch. (For sponsorship opportunities, email Kristine Kuhnert.)
  • Topics May Include: Advocacy, communication, business management, ag literacy, consumer connections, leadership development, farm production, direct marketing, mental health and wellness, Farm Bureau programming, policy, technology, etc.

Why Present?

Presenting at a Michigan Farm Bureau conference offers you the chance to:

  • Share practical tools and innovative ideas
  • Inspire others and strengthen grassroots leadership
  • Grow your network across Michigan’s agricultural community
  • Build your leadership brand while giving back to the industry

Help Spread the Word!

If you know someone who’d be a great speaker, please pass this opportunity along. The submission deadline is May 20; selections will be announced by July 1.
