More than two-thirds of Michigan counties will hold elections on Tuesday, Nov. 4, giving residents the opportunity to weigh in on a range of local municipal and school issues. Michigan Farm Bureau is encouraging members to get informed and make their voices heard at the polls.

View the 72 counties and numerous communities holding elections.

“Local elections are where many of the decisions that impact our daily lives are made,” said Matt Kapp, MFB government relations specialist. “Ballots may be shorter, but the issues often hit closest to home — from school millages and township proposals to decisions that affect land use, infrastructure and rural services.”

Local election outcomes frequently influence agriculture and rural communities through decisions on zoning, land use, infrastructure funding and education. Farm Bureau leaders are encouraging members to learn what’s on the ballot in their area and to make voting a priority.

Voters can preview their ballot, check their registration status, find their polling location, and learn how to vote absentee by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center on the Secretary of State’s website.
