Missaukee County Farm Bureau Promotion & Education ended 2025 with a grant from United Dairy of Michigan providing milk and cookies for Lake City’s primary holiday event.

“Light Up Lake City” took place Nov. 22 and included several community festivities including a well-attended craft show, kids’ crafting stations provided by the local 4-H), milk and cookies.

With the evening came a light parade through downtown Lake City — and more milk and cookies!

“The free milk and cookies were quite a hit with the community!” said county president Jodi DeHate, noting that pretty much everyone present seemed to be enjoying themselves at the well-attended event.

The night ended with the lighting of the downtown Christmas tree in the city park.
