Osceola County Farm Bureau is currently blessed with an energetic, go-getter of a Young Farmer chair, Taylor Martin, who recently paired up with fellow member Eugene Sturdavant to organize the county’s inaugural Angels in the Outfield softball tournament.

Saying the event was a success would be an understatement. Players, volunteers and the crowd of families who supported their loved ones’ playing raised $1,800 to donate to families in need.

“My favorite part of the whole day was seeing how many people were willing to help this great cause that will impact so many families right in our area,” Martin said. “Seeing others share the same passion I have for this event made the work it took so much more worth it.”

Proceeds will be donated to Angels of Action, a non-profit with the mission of providing children and their families, access to food, essential needs and community resources with love, respect and understanding.

The event had around 60 members and non-members as people of the non-farming community came together to enjoy some healthy competition to benefit a great cause
