Branch Area Career Center FFA Department & Branch County Farm Bureau joined forces to provide a rural education day otherwise known as Project RED for local 3rd grade students.
With the help of volunteers and educators from Branch County Conservation District over 400 third graders learned about dairy cows, goats, pumpkins, pigs, soil erosion, wildlife & tomatoes. The stations were presented by volunteers from right here in Branch County, without them this event wouldn’t be possible. The presenters raise the animals or grow the crops they are presenting, there is no better source to get your information from than that! Not only do the kids get to learn about agriculture while at BACC their teachers are provided with access to ag accurate educational materials and activities as well as a book to take back to their classrooms to continue the experience.
This event is put on annually for 3rd graders in the county and is scheduled for September 17th, 2026. We look forward to seeing all the new 3rd graders this fall!
If you have a suggestion for a presentation or would like to volunteer, please contact the county office at [email protected] or call 517-279-0538.
