Farmers looking for a crash course in farms succession are encouraged to attend Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2026 Take Root Succession Planning Conference, Feb. 10 at MSU’s Henry Center. This statewide conference only happens every other year, so don’t miss out!
Agenda highlights include keynote speaker Jolene Brown, a nationally-known succession planning advisor and beloved farm-community motivator.
Several estate-planning attorneys from several law firms across Michigan will be there to present on their various areas of specialization. Representatives from GreenStone Farm Credit Services and Farm Bureau Insurance will also be on site, as will representatives from a farm-business accounting firm, a financial planning firm and a Medicare expert.
Attendees will be able to pick the sessions of their choice, as best fit their own farm-succession situation. Breakout topics include estate tax and succession planning, life insurance and Medicare, financial planning and the challenges of passing along large farms with multiple operations.
Registration for the 2026 Take Root Conference is $50 per person, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks, all presentation printouts and a complementary notebook.
Click here to register before the Jan. 30 deadline.
