The Saginaw County Farm Bureau is proud to announce that Nicole Neumann, Madison Sylvester, and Pierce VanHaaren have been selected as the recipients of the 2026 Bonnie Vasold Academic Scholarship.
- Nicole Neumann is the daughter of Chris and Michelle Neumann and a graduate of Chesaning Union High School. She will attend Michigan State University to study Dairy Management and Agriculture Industries.
- Madison Sylvester is the daughter of Joshua and Melissa Sylvester and a graduate of Saginaw Heritage High School. She will attend Delta College before transferring to Michigan State University to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
- Pierce VanHaaren is the son of John and Patricia VanHaaren and a graduate of Chesaning Union High School. He will attend Michigan State University to study Crop & Soil Science and Agricultural Sales.
Neumann, Sylvester, and VanHaaren were selected based on their academic achievements, leadership, community involvement, and commitment to their future educational and career goals.
The Bonnie Vasold Academic Scholarship is awarded annually to support students pursuing higher education and to encourage future leaders within agriculture and rural communities. The scholarship honors the legacy of Bonnie Vasold and her dedication to education and community service.
Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship award to be used toward tuition, books, room and board, or other educational expenses during the upcoming school year.

Applications for the 2027 scholarship program will open in January 2027.
