#SpeakAgMichigan – High School and Collegiate members challenged to connect with consumers

The #SpeakAgMichigan Challenge focuses on poultry in October.
Date Posted: October 13, 2022

Developing voices within in the agricultural industry is one of the overall goals of Michigan Farm Bureau’s High School and Collegiate programming. The 2022 #SpeakAgMichigan Challenge supported by the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture lays the path for FFA chapters and Collegiate Farm Bureau members as they engage with consumers through their social media platforms.

From September through December, competitors develop and implement a social media challenge highlighting designated monthly topics. September kicked off the challenge focusing on farm safety. Thirty-one FFA chapters and ten collegiate members created videos, shared tips and resources, and designed posts informing their audiences on a variety of farm safety topics.

You are encouraged to search your Instagram and Facebook feed for #SpeakAgMichigan or click on the links below to follow your local chapters! October focuses on poultry. In November, wildlife will be front and center. Rounding out the four-month challenge, competitors will highlight poinsettias.

Leaderboards for both divisions are posted on the Michigan Farm Bureau Facebook and Instagram accounts the first Friday of the month and competitors receive feedback from the judges to build on their promotion and education skills! The top ten high school chapters will receive a cash prize and recognition during the 2023 Michigan FFA State Convention and the top three collegiate members and their chapters will be recognized and awarded a cash prize during the Young Farmer Leaders Conference in February 2023.
