Theresa Sisung has been named manager of Michigan Farm Bureau’s Commodity and Regulatory Relations (CRR) Department.

Under her leadership, the CRR team will focus on commodity issues, regulatory and conservation impacts and industry relations. As part of this work, Sisung will also continue to contribute her expertise on crop-related issues, strengthening the department’s ability to serve members across Michigan’s diverse agricultural sectors.

“Theresa is a lifelong member of our agricultural community and brings deep experience and an impressive record of service to Michigan agriculture to her new role,” said MFB Public Policy Director Andrew Vermeesch.

“She’s incredibly well respected by our members and ag stakeholders across the state for her unique skillset and expertise that she will continue to build upon in this new role.”

Sisung lives in St. Johns and is actively involved in her family farm and joined Michigan Farm Bureau in 2019 as a Field Crop and Advisory Team specialist before serving as the organization’s industry relations specialist, supporting both row crop and specialty crop producers.

Before joining MFB, Sisung spent more than a decade with Michigan Corn, where she held multiple roles supporting growers, checkoff programs, and key industry initiatives.

“Michigan agriculture means everything to me, and I’m thrilled to have this new opportunity to serve our members,” Sisung said.

“I’m excited to lead this talented team as we continue to advocate for our members and the grassroots policy they create, while working to enhance agriculture in our state and beyond.”

Sisung holds a master of agribusiness from Kansas State University and a bachelor of science in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communication from Michigan State University, has completed the Great Lakes Leadership Academy Emerging Leader Program and was recognized as part of the 2024 Fruit and Vegetable 40 Under 40 class.
