Yee Haw - Hillsdale Co Farm Bureau members head to the Rodeo

Date Posted: May 9, 2025

Last month, members of Hillsdale County Farm Bureau and local FFA chapters flooded into day one of ProEdge Arena’s finals night to watch cowboys and gals have a chance to win this year’s rodeo event.

Each year committee chairs host programs focused on leadership aspirations, training opportunities, and sometimes, well, a family day out to connect with fellow farmers! Promoting a fun, family night out also helps keep our health in good standing because let’s face it, farming in a sunup to sundown job and sometimes we just need to enjoy the company of family and friends.

ProEdge Arena, located in Osseo, provides area residents with a local venue for a family night out. Many local businesses support this venue, and we are grateful for their hospitality as we drew in numerous rodeo-goers to the venue. For some, this was an entirely new adventure paired with laughter and excitement as you witness a rather dangerous sport – bull riding.

During intermission, the audience was entertained by various activities for both children and adults, but we took that time to have their staff toss out logoed beanie caps to represent Hillsdale County Farm Bureau.

2018 marked the last time members gathered at the arena for this particular event and if you look closely, you’ll notice ProEdge Arena has not forgotten us as the newspaper article is facing prominently next to the snack bar as a reminder of the family fun we have joined at this venue.

This event was hosted by Young Farmer Chairs Ridge and Lindsay Bollheimer and Membership Captain Joe Ladd. If you are interested in learning more about our programs, you can visit us online at michfb.com/hillsdale or call the office at (517) 437-2458.
