Young voices matter! Register for the 2025 #SpeakAgMichigan Challenge

The #SpeakAgMichigan Challenge empowers participants to sharpen their advocacy skills through engaging, month-long social media campaigns.
Date Posted: August 14, 2025

In a world where social media is a top news source for many, the #SpeakAgMichigan Challenge for FFA and Collegiate Farm Bureau members encourages young people to share accurate, trustworthy information about agriculture with their communities, using their own social media pages.

The #SpeakAgMichigan contest empowers participants to proactively connect with consumers and sharpen advocacy skills through engaging, month-long social media campaigns.

New for 2025

This year’s monthly topics align with Michigan Farm Bureau’s Community Action Group discussion topics. Use this opportunity to engage your class in deeper discussions around each focus area.

Bonus points will be awarded to the FFA class that reads the Community Action Group newsletter and answers the monthly questions.

Each month a new focus will challenge competitors to develop, create and implement social media campaigns for Facebook or Instagram:

  • September: Non-Traditional Agriculture: Not Your Average Farm: Exploring Unique Ways Michiganders Grow Food
  • October: Environmental Stewardship: How Farmers Care for the Land, Water & Wildlife
  • November: Local Agricultural Issues: What’s ‘Growing On’ in Michigan Agriculture?
  • December: Food Insecurity: Growing Solutions to Food Insecurity

High School FFA chapters will compete for a total of $5,000. Cash awards will be given to the top 10 FFA chapters in the high school division and recognition at the 2026 Michigan FFA State Convention.

Competitors in the collegiate division will be recognized during the 2026 Young Farmers Conference with the top three Collegiate Farm Bureau members earning $500, $300 and $200, respectively. Each Collegiate member’s chapter will also receive a cash award for use toward upcoming chapter programming.
