These “gaps” — such as deductibles, coinsurance and certain limitations — can be costly in the event of an accident or illness. Medicare Supplement coverage is tried and true, easy to understand, and does not use provider networks. And for each of our four government-approved levels of coverage, the rates are very affordable.

Medicare Supplement Plan Options
Plan A offers basic benefits only. This plan is ideal for folks who want coverage for many coinsurance payments, yet do not foresee using a lot of health care services. It is reliable coverage at a great price – one of the least expensive Medicare Supplement Plans offered.

Plan D is one of several that covers most of the expenses not paid by Medicare, yet may better suit your budget than the more popular Plan G.

Our most popular plan, Plan G pays all of Medicare’s copayments and coinsurances, the Medicare Part A hospital deductible, and Medicare Part B excess charges if you use a doctor who doesn’t accept Medicare. You’ll only be responsible for the Medicare Part B deductible.

If you’re willing to make reasonable copayments for some health care services in exchange for lower monthly premiums, consider Plan N. It’s similar to Plan D, but you’ll pay a copayment of up to $20 for some office visits, and up to $50 for emergency room visits if you’re not admitted to the hospital.

The federal government’s Medicare program has helped protect people ages 65 and older (and others younger than 65 who meet special requirements) for decades. But Medicare’s coverage is limited in many ways. Plus there are sizable deductibles that must be paid each year. This is why supplemental coverage, drug coverage and other protection “add-ons” can be a valuable financial safety net.
For our four Medicare Supplements, no networks are required. People with these plans are free to choose their own providers who accept Medicare.
Each individual who is eligible for Medicare gets one Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period in their lifetime. This Open Enrollment Period starts on the 1st day of the month in which you are both age 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Part B, and lasts for 6 months. During this time period, you can enroll in any Medicare Supplement with no health questions asked and you’re guaranteed acceptance. There are also some other situations when you may be eligible for a guaranteed issue right.
If you are not eligible for a guaranteed issue right, your application could be rejected or you may be charged a higher premium rate based on your current health status.
