Michigan Farm Bureau’s nonpartisan political action committee, AgriPac, has announced its roster of candidates selected to receive the "Friend of Agriculture" designation and the organization’s endorsement in the Aug. 4 primary election.
2026 AgriPac Friends of Agriculture
AgriPac Chair and Hillsdale County farmer Jennifer Lewis said the Friends of Agriculture roster is the result of Michigan Farm Bureau's grassroots endorsement process, which helps identify candidates committed to policies that allow farms and agribusinesses to thrive.
"Michigan Farm Bureau’s strength has always come from engaged members and strong relationships," Lewis said. "Our endorsement process helps identify candidates who are willing to listen, learn and work with agriculture. By building those relationships before and after Election Day, we're helping ensure farmers have a seat at the table when decisions affecting our industry are made."
"Our local candidate evaluation committees conduct candidate interviews, review candidate questionnaires and consider incumbents’ voting records before recommending candidates for AgriPac endorsement," Lewis explained. "The 14-member AgriPac committee also reviewed an incredible 425 recommendations from 64 county Farm Bureaus to help shape this Friends of Agriculture primary election roster."
In statewide primary races, AgriPac endorsed:
- U.S. Senate: Mike Rogers (R)
- U.S. House of Representatives: Jack Bergman (R-1), John Moolenaar (R-2), Bill Huizenga (R-4), Tim Walberg (R-5), Tom Barrett (R-7), Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-8), Lisa McClain (R-9), Michael Bouchard (R-10), and Donavan McKinney (D-13).
AgriPac also endorsed Doug Lloyd for state Attorney General and Roger Victory for the Michigan State University Board of Trustees. Both of these races will appear only on the November general election ballot.
