Join Wexford County’s Young Farmers for Forestry & Friends, a laid-back, family-friendly gathering Sept. 20 at Seaton Creek Campground, nestled in the heart of Michigan’s great forests outside marvelous Mesick.
This is more than a cookout; it’s a chance to connect with your community, engage with forestry professionals, and soak in the outdoors as we kick off the fall season together.
Here’s what to expect:
- A delicious campground cookout
- Yard games for all ages
- Wexford’s famous Smoothie Bike
- Apple-cider making
- A cozy bonfire
- River trip (optional)
This event is all about community, connection and celebrating local resources. Whether you're there to relax, explore or get inspired for fall, this day is for you!
Bring your friends, your family or just yourself: Everyone’s welcome. Let’s gather, unwind, and get fired up for fall!
The meal will be potluck style: dogs, brats, sides, drinks, etc. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. Grill space will be available if you prefer to bring your own meal, we will cook it for you.
Here’s what’s on tap:
- 11 a.m. — Welcome & Safety Moment; Young Farmer Chair Madeleine Smeltzer (that’s me)
- 11:15 a.m. — Keynote Speaker Clayton Rogers, Wexford County Young Farmer and forestry technician
- 12 p.m. — Lunch! Table space may be limited, so bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.
