Dist. 3 donates state charity prize to Gleaners Food Bank

Wayne County Farm Bureau President Carl Graham, on behalf of all District 3 county Farm Bureaus, with Angela Halverson, the Director of Donor Engagement for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

In October 2022, the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies launched a monthlong hunger-relief fundraising campaign to benefit the Food Bank Council of Michigan. To incentivize county Farm Bureau participation, a friendly fundraising competition was developed, with the highest fundraising district awarded $2,500 from the Michigan Farm Bureau Agent Charitable Fund to present to a food charity of their choice.

District 3 — Livington, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties — won the district campaign and donated its $2,500 prize to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

The funds were formally presented to Gleaners last month. District 3 was recognized for its achievement at Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2022 Annual Meeting in November.

Big thanks to our District 3 county Farm Bureaus — and to Gleaners — for their dedication to ending hunger in Michigan!
