Fill a student’s bucket!

Sanilac County Farm Bureau knows how to fill a bucket!

In Have You Filled a Bucket Today? author Carol McCloud wrote: “All day long, we are either filling up or dipping into each other’s buckets by what we say and what we do. Try to fill a bucket and see what happens.”

As high school and college students transition into summer and toward their young lives’ next chapter, your county Farm Bureau has the unique opportunity to fill their bucket — literally. By purchasing a Farm Bureau pail from the Michigan Ag in the Classroom online store, you can connect with these students and show them how — through action — how Farm Bureau supports them.

  • Here are some ways to fill the buckets and connect with students over the summer months:
  • Give buckets as graduation gifts when you attend their open houses.
  • Fill buckets with wash supplies and donate to all the livestock barns at your county fair.
  • Hold a fishing tournament and supply each youth participant with a bucket full of fishing gear.
  • Donate s’more goodness to the 4-H overnight camp as you fill several buckets of marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate!
  • Hosting a summer movie night? Fill buckets with bags of popcorn and drinks for the high school and college students who come to watch the show!

Have an idea you want to share with other counties? Send me a photo and description! We’d love to highlight how your county is filling a student’s bucket!
