On a picture-perfect, early-summer evening in downtown Cadillac, 60 associate and regular members of the Wexford County Farm Bureau and the Emington Shultz Agency joined together for a night out on the town.

The inaugural Picnic in the Park event invited all Wexford members to celebrate summer and a return to some sense of normalcy, while also asking questions of county Farm Bureau leadership and local Farm Bureau Insurance agents.

Memories were made and laughs were shared as friends and families finally enjoyed some quality time together. MFB staffer Megan Sprague, who manages the organization’s Young Farmer program by day, came up from Lansing to master the grill so nobody went hungry.

“Events like this remind us all that not all successful events need some sense of grandeur,” said Nicole Jennings, regional manager for District 9.

“A simple event with some hot dogs on the grill, some fun and games and just time to enjoy each other’s company is what we’re all most longing for right now, and I think this one hit the spot.
