EPA to rewrite WOTUS rule by Sept. 1

After losing the landmark case of Sackett vs EPA in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Environmental Protection Agency is going back to the drawing board on its massive Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. The agency said it will rewrite the 435-page rule by September 1, 2023 — giving them just 66 days to get it done.

Phones down: Michigan’s distracted driving takes effect June 30

Michigan's new distracted driving laws make holding or using a cell phone while driving a primary offense — meaning an officer could pull someone over and ticket them for it. The legislation defines holding a cell phone or electronic device as physically supporting it with “any part of the hands, arms or shoulders.” Michigan is now one of 26 states that have enacted similar bans.
