Visser Farms take on Holland Township in farm-market stand dispute

COVID-19 has put farmers across Michigan under stress, especially when it comes to serving their produce to restaurants. The family who runs West Michigan’s Visser Farms LLC knows that pain firsthand. Last year they hoped to open an additional farm stand to sell some of their 300 different varieties of specialty crops directly to their community and help offset the hardship of the pandemic.

Farm Bureau Makes Investment in Digital Solutions

Lansing-based web agency Gravity Works Design & Development has joined the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies as part of a business acquisition. The move will give Farm Bureau full access to a dedicated team of web professionals, while also helping Gravity Works expand as an independent agency. The acquisition was completed last month.

Travis Lower Named Chief Investment Officer

Farm Bureau Insurance announced that Travis Lower has been appointed vice president of investments and chief investment officer position for the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies. In his new role, Travis will be responsible for management of all Investment Division activities, including managing the cash and investment assets of all Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.

Steve Ellis Earns Top Farm Bureau Insurance Honor

Steve Ellis of Marlette, Michigan received the Farm Bureau Insurance Elton R. Smith Award on February 26th, 2021. Ellis accepted the award in his hometown with his family whom he credited, along with the staff at the Steve Ellis Insurance Agency, for making the honor possible. Steve has served Marlette and its surrounding areas as a Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan agent for over seventeen years.
